First Things First
These moms get it. Between kids, Doctor appointments, play dates, housework, meal planning, and even finding time to shower- there isn’t enough time left in the day for exercise! They have been there, they ARE there, and they understand. Take their 17 tips and use them to help you put some exercise into your routine and start feeling great!
Free Workout Routines
Here is a super easy and quick 10-minute prenatal workout for those new moms to be! This is a total body Yoga and gentle stretch workout. I LOVED Yoga when I was pregnant. It stretched me out in all the right places and always left me feeling refreshed and recharged. If you are expecting a little one- definitely give this routine a try!
If anyone has a hard time fitting exercise in their routine, it’s new moms. Tiny newborns are very demanding! This exercise routine takes that into account and gives you seven exercises you can complete WITH your new little baby! These exercises can double as a soothing or bonding time with your little one, and you can feel great that you not only spent this time taking care of yourself, but you also had some extra bonding time with baby.
I’m sure this routine is one that ALL moms can benefit from. Mom and “busy” are basically synonymous. But even the busiest mom can find 1 minute to squeeze into her schedule. You could do this routine while waiting on water to boil, brewing your cup of coffee, or during your child’s inconsolable tantrum (just kidding – kind of). Jillian Michaels is a mother herself and she understands how busy you are. The key to exercise when you have little time is high intensity for short bursts. This is what this routine brings. It’s definitely very intense, but anyone can survive one minute! (Right?)
This one isn’t directed specifically at mothers, but it’s still worth mentioning. If you are looking to get into Pilates (specifically POP Pilates) this is a good beginner routine to start with.
If you are a mom and are pressed for time but you still want the benefits of an hour long gym session, Tabata is the exercise routine for you. By combining high interval exercises in short bursts followed by brief resting periods you can get the same benefit of an hour of lower intensity workouts. The best thing is- you do not need any exercise equipment! In fact, it’s better without it! Using just your body eliminates taking the time searching for your equipment or fumbling with buttons and switches. These routines will leave you breathless and ready to pass out for sure, but they are entirely worth it, and super easy to fit into even the busiest moms daily schedule!
If you need a little extra push to get you going into an exercise routine- try one of these challenges! The psychology behind challenges is that it only takes 14 days to build a habit. Meaning, if you can push yourself to complete these challenges, you are well on your way to making exercise an important part of your everyday routine!
Exercise Without a Routine
Maybe exercise routines are not for you, maybe you don’t like having a set schedule or routine, but you still want to find a way to burn some extra calories while doing things you already need to do.
This Ebook takes an interesting approach to add exercise into your normal day. She takes things you are already doing like household chores and playing with your kids and turns them into calorie-burning chances for exercise. It’s meant to use on days you can’t make it to the gym, but I believe any exercise is better than NONE, so if these are the only things you do- you are still exercising and that’s something to be proud of! Take the time to read this book, and see how many times you can fit exercise in your everyday routine!
I hope you enjoyed these FREE exercise routines, challenges, and Ebook! Which will you be using the most? Tell me in the comments below!
